I figured it was time to shake things up again, no pun intended. Nah, pun intended and you can’t do anything about it hahaha. I decided to try out intermittent fasting for a few weeks to see how it goes. So far I haven’t lost or gained any weight but its only been 4 days. I can however do the math, which does make sense. Even without all of that extra stuff they say the fasting does for you there is one thing I saw right away. The average calorie count for people fluctuates but most experts agree that you want to stay under 2000 calories a day. In the 4 days I have not eaten in the morning and only for 8 hours each day I have consumed about 1700 or less calories. To be fair though I am also quite active and have been working out about 5 to 6 times per week, the same way I was before.

So the version of IF that I am trying out is the 8 hours on 16 hours off for calorie consumption. To stave off hunger before I start eating each day I have been consuming what you see above called BCAAs(Branch Chain Amino Acids). I sip it all day long until its time for me to have my first meal, which has been around 1 or 2 pm (“holy crap, what!” yup, its really not that bad if you were already used to not eating in the morning in the first place). But if I start at 1 or 2 that means I end all calorie consumption by 9 or 10 which includes alcohol. I can also consume coffee or tea as long as it doesn’t have any sugar or artificial sweeteners in it.

If this does work out as I expect it to I should see results within 2 weeks. I will continue to try it out for a little while after as well just to see how it goes.
